Attention to color names is important for data visualization. Ensuring
that each color can be unambiguously named makes it easier to refer to
elements in conversation. Experimental evidence also suggests that
nameable colors are better remembered. Here, we use a color naming model
to analyze color palettes. This tool examines both individual saliency
scores (how uniquely "nameable" a color value is) and color name
distance (how much the names used to describe palette colors "overlap").
